Familiarization tours and robust economic development websites are major ways communities attract the attention of site selectors, and the Fortune 500 companies they represent, in location and expansion decisions that fuel job growth and capital investment in communities.
To gain the attention of site selection consultants both nationally and locally, ACED has also launched a compelling new website, www.adamscountyrep.com sharing Adams County’s story as the second-fastest growing county in the Denver area. With significant available land for development and the region’s most notable economic development projects including the Colorado Air and Space Port, Fitzsimons, and the massive Aerotropolis development surrounding Denver International Airport, there’s never been more opportunity in Adams County.
“The Summit and new website are major aspects of our economic development strategy to advance Adams County’s industries, developments, and innovative companies,” said Rita Connerly, ACED Board Chair and a Director with Fairfield and Woods.
The Summit agenda will include an Adams County CEO panel discussion at Maxar Technologies in Westminster. The company made headlines in 2018 when it moved its corporate headquarters from San Francisco to Westminster, creating 800 new jobs in Adams County. In addition, the consultants will tour the burgeoning Fitzsimons/Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora and the Amazon Robotics Fulfillment Center in Thornton. They’ll also learn about the County’s innovative workforce initiatives involving Career Technical Education. Private dinner events with business leaders will allow ACED members and economic development partners to build relationships with the site consultants.
Adams County’s business community will hear firsthand the latest trends in site selection and how Adams County competes during the Summit’s final event, Ascent: Our Competitive Edge, a breakfast taking place Thursday, July 25 at Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center. A moderated panel discussion with the location advisors will shed light on Adams County’s strengths and opportunities for the future.
“The Adams County Site Selection Summit is a major initiative to promote the county as an ideal business expansion location,” said Tricia Allen, Interim President/CEO of ACED. “By collaborating with our communities and economic development partners, we’re working to showcase Adams County’s infrastructure, workforce, and regional cooperation to a national audience.”
Adolfson & Peterson Construction is Title Sponsor of the Summit. Presenting Sponsors include The Aurora Highlands, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Colorado Air and Space Port, Great Western Petroleum, and Xcel Energy.
