Intermountain Rural Electric Association (IREA) was established in 1938 as a not-for-profit, customer-owned electric distribution cooperative. IREA is all about its people, who provide and improve the service delivered each minute throughout the 5,000 square miles of central Colorado served by the cooperative.
IREA currently serves more than 160,000 customers inside a 5,000-square-mile service territory in central Colorado, with headquarters in Sedalia and district offices in Conifer, Strasburg, and Woodland Park. a. IREA is a company driven not only by the customers it serves, but also by the dedicated and talented people who work here. Many customers have contact with or see our field personnel and customer service representatives, the people who keep the energy flowing in all weather and who solve customer problems daily, but there is so much more to keeping an electric utility going.
