One of the busiest airline hubs in the world's largest aviation market
Denver International Airport (DEN) is one of the top five busiest airports in the U.S. serving more than 69 million passengers in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and has remained among the busiest airports despite COVID-19 impacts. DEN is also an economic powerhouse, generating more than $33 billion annually for Colorado and employing more than 15,000 Adams County residents.
Denver International Airport was built in 1995 on 53 square miles, making it one of the largest airports in the world. As of March 2021, DEN is served by 22 airlines to more than 180 nonstop destinations including 13 international destinations. The airport has six runways with a masterplan to expand to 12, and has the longest commercial runway in the United States at 16,000 feet, more than three miles long.
