The Adams County Workforce and Business Center (WBC) is planning several events for the upcoming Workforce Development Month. On September 15, the WBC will host its Annual Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pete Mirelez Human Services Center at 11860 Pecos Street in Westminster. Employers, job seekers, community partners, and human service providers are invited to attend and speak to specialists from each department. The event will also include vendors from supporting service providers in Adams County Human Services.
On September 23, the WBC will host a Virtual Job Fair targeted toward the youth of Adams County. The event will have an electronic registration with video conferencing capability with area employers who are hiring entry-level and season positions perfect for young people. The WBC is partnering with the Denver Economic Development & Opportunity (DEDO) Workforce Services which was awarded $7.38 million from the U.S. Department of Labor to invest in its Technology Employment in Colorado Partnership (TEC-P) program. The program focuses on training and upskilling the local workforce in key industries such as cybersecurity, advanced manufacturing, and software development.
