July 17, 2020 – Adams County Regional Economic Council (ACREP) gathered its Board, members, economic development partners, and community stakeholders on July 16 for a Special Community Planning Discussion with Dr. Richard Florida.
There is light at the end of the tunnel. In the not-too-distant future, the pandemic will end and our communities will return to something approximating normal. This is a time when our communities, their leaders, and our economic development professionals can and must show the way ahead.
Dr. Richard Florida, an international author, economist, and Urban Studies expert, is known for his concept of the creative class and its ramifications in urban regeneration and talent migration.
Florida walked participants through key strategies on “How Our Communities Can Re-Open and Re-Imagine their Economies Post COVID-19.” Following his presentation, ACREP presented the framework for its Strategic Plan, including the five pillars of success, and discuss how we can position our community for success going forward.
